Chantey is a 1927 auxiliary ketch built by Herman Lund of Erie, PA. The hull is Carvel planked mahogany, however, in 2003 her previous owner had the hull, deck, and cabintop covered in fiberglass. The boat spent most of its early life cruising and racing extensively all over the great lakes. We have a stack of regatta flags from the 20’s up till WWII. The boat comes with a couple full sets of sails. The boat spent most of this summer cruising Fishers Island sound and beyond and in preparation for that we put a lot of work into her to insure safety and reliability including-
The boat is currently being stored at the Mystic Seaport Museum in Mystic Connecticut as a part of our Yachts on Exhibit program, proceeds of the sale will go towards museum operations. More/specific photos are available upon request and feel free to ask any questions.
